Apples in Stereo - Dance Floor Really liking this song right now.

Maybe it’s my winter blues getting the best of me, but lately I have really been liking this new super-summery, lo-fi music being done by artists like Tanlines, Washed Out, Delorean, etc. I am putting together a mixtape of all my favorites, but here is a little sample for now. Shiny Toy Guns - Major Tom (Coming Home) (via: iamkory) I am no big fan of Shiny Toy Guns. In fact I think they rather suck. But being an 80s baby I really can’t help but like this new track by them and their new lead singer. It’s an easy cover, but I love the original and it’s a fun song.

I rarely listen to anything on the radio other than NPR. But since being here in LA I have had to drive a lot more than I normally do, and I have tried out some of the other stations down here. In the past few days I have heard some of the most ridiculous, shitty-ass songs I have ever heard. Two songs in particular stick out in my mind… ‘Kiss Me Through the Phone’ by Soulja Boy (posted above) and ‘One More Drink’ by Ludacris. While hearing both of these songs in the car I was literally laughing out loud at the lyrics. At first I thought they were a complete joke, like I could imagine these songs being done by Lonely Island on SNL. Insanely stupid to the point of being funny! I love pop music.

I downloaded this track today from XLR8R called Where Am I? done by Addled from his new EP called Heartbreachno. I really liked it a lot and did some Googling. I couldn’t find much at all, in fact I searched “Addled+Heartbreachno” and there were only two results. I am not sure how I would discribe the sound. XLR8R discribes the sound as “extra-lush tech house”. Whatever you call it, it’s good stuff and I look forward to hearing the entire EP.

LCD Soundsystem - Get Innocuous I am surprised I hadn’t heard it before, but I heard this song on the new Grand Theft Auto commercial the other day and had to do some investigation to find out who it was. It’s a super infectious song. I have been bobbing my head to it ever since I found it.
