AT&T released their new plans for the 3G iPhone today. I nearly shat myself when I read that the cost of the plans were going up from their already ridiculously high priced plans. Yes, the iPhone is amazing. Yes, I love it. Yes, I would and did pay $400 for this phone. I am in love with my iPhone, but should I really want to pay $70 per month for 450 minutes (with no text messages) if I am wanting to upgrade to the 3G model?!! That’s $30 more per month than a plan with a regular phone! I am being held hostage by my love for this device, and getting raped by the service provider I “have” to use. Why should it matter what phone you are using on your cellular service? Why should there be an entirely different price plan for a particular device that you purchased? To me this seems like buying a new flat screen TV, being forced to use a certain cable company, and then being charged out the ass because you bought that particular TV.
